Trapper Trails Tradeoree 2016

Participated in the Trapper Trails Tradeoree.  I only got 3 tables this time, although I brought enough memorabilia for 6.  Russ was fortunate to get the entire north side with several tables.

Brought a few uniforms

Here's Russ side.  He got 6-7 tables.  He made some book cases like mine.

Salt Lake Trade-o-ree 2016

Well, I arrived at the Tradeoree around 4:00 and I had 3 tables, kind of low key this year.  I purchased a few things at the silent auction on Saturday and a few things Friday night.  Drove home Friday night and was back at 9:00 Saturday.  Purchased a few items in the auction in the afternoon.  Wiatt helped me a bunch, focusing on a collection which was being sold.  Bought some great Star and Life ranks on black, white and blue cloth.  Bought some DTG medals from a fellow by the name of Moyes, whose dad was from the Ogden area!  Nice guy.  Doug Bearce had a fantastic square merit badge sash and wanted $1250 for it.  Too much for me.
Saturday auction items
Wiatt, who directed me to one of those binders with the insignia!!!!
Also, Carey, my buddy!

This is an amazing LDS Scouting collection.  Those tokens on the bottom are unreal.  He just uses foam board.

I bid on that neckerchif.  It looks great here!

The other amazing collection of Lone Scout items.

Great collection of LDS medals.

Community Strips is now a new area of collecting.....

Grand Teton Trade-o-ree - September 17-17

Well, I drove up to Idaho Falls and display 4 tables of Scouting memorabilia this past weekend.  Not too many people there but I picked up a few things for my museum.
This year it was in Idaho Falls, a little further north the Pocatello

Here are my 4 tables ready for the 'crowd'...

Here's a couple Scouts playing with the binoculars.

Craig McDaniel made it up which was great.

More trading and bartering...

Great Salt Lake Council Scout Expo 2016

Well, the biggest event of the year is behind me and what a great day to share Scouting heritage with so many visitors.  I got to meet parents who were so intrigued with the Osca De Larente designed Lady dressed, was able to share the very first Boy Scout book from 1908, and so my more.  The Kenner Boy Scout village fascinated so many as well.   Over 200 linear feet of display space, mine was one of the largest events of the day.
Start unloading my little truck - no trailer, it's all in the truck!

Get the uniforms and displays out so we can get to the tables and easels.

Hey, I'm smiling because I finally get to share some Scouting Heritage!

Even Carson is Smiling!

Carson has been my helper for many years now and he showed up again.  He can reach the top to hang the uniforms, while Laurie hands them to him.  She's behind the camera as well.

Saturday morning.  I need a lower level or some hooks so the Cub uniforms, as well as all uniforms are lower.  Maybe I can make some hooks for next year....

Here they came.  They really liked the Kenner Scout display.

1 - Birth of Scouting display.

2 - British Handbooks

3 - Pre-Scout display

4 - BSA Handbooks
