Conclave 2017 - Price Utah

Brotherhood ceremony.
Although I had a fever and not feeling good, I ventured to the Conclave because I was hoping to do my Brotherhood.  I arrived and Jerry Titus and me camped on the cement behind the blowing wind on the grandstand. Unfortunately, my air mattress became flat by 3:30.  I didn't sleep the rest of the night!
Here's where the patch trading and classes were held.

Kilts, silent auctions.

Provo/Orem Trade-o-ree 2017

Spent Friday and Saturday at the Trade-o-ree again.  I had 4 tables provided by Michael Keller.  He's great as participation was down a little this year and it gave me more room.

Texas Trade-o-ree 2017

Well, this is my 3rd time to the Texas TOR.  Went in 2013, 2015 and 2017.  Go figure.  All part of work trips.  It was a busy 2 days and didn't get a chance to go to the museum which is closing down this year and moving the contents to Philmont.  Wiatt and John stayed in my hotel at the Marriott Courtyard, which was a fun time with them.   It was fun sharing a room and hanging together.
Here's Terry Grove, Mr. Eagle Scout insignia expert!

Wiatt Williamson drove down with John Burns and he was buying mostly!  Fun times.

Late Friday night, a lot gone to supper.  Skipped supper and left TOR about 10:00 p.m.

Two GREAT Scouters with serious service in Scouting years.  Hal Yocum on the left has many great uniforms he displays and he does amazing Baden-Powell impressions.  Dennis Downing on the right is another serious Scouter who has the Scouting Museum of New Mexico in Raton, New Mexico.

One very nice sash

There's some seriously expensive and rare merit badges right there!

Cool method of displaying patches,  Very impressive design.

Doug Bearce brought a ton of stuff.  I bought some books and a LSA cloth.

Robert sold me some Sea Scout patches, Eagles and such.  He's a super displayer of Scouting history. He has The Good Old Days Mobile Scout Museum.  We come from the same mold.

Here's a picture just going into the main hall.

Here's looking to the left.

Late Friday night when people were gone to supper.

Trapper Trails Tradeoree 2016

Participated in the Trapper Trails Tradeoree.  I only got 3 tables this time, although I brought enough memorabilia for 6.  Russ was fortunate to get the entire north side with several tables.

Brought a few uniforms

Here's Russ side.  He got 6-7 tables.  He made some book cases like mine.

Salt Lake Trade-o-ree 2016

Well, I arrived at the Tradeoree around 4:00 and I had 3 tables, kind of low key this year.  I purchased a few things at the silent auction on Saturday and a few things Friday night.  Drove home Friday night and was back at 9:00 Saturday.  Purchased a few items in the auction in the afternoon.  Wiatt helped me a bunch, focusing on a collection which was being sold.  Bought some great Star and Life ranks on black, white and blue cloth.  Bought some DTG medals from a fellow by the name of Moyes, whose dad was from the Ogden area!  Nice guy.  Doug Bearce had a fantastic square merit badge sash and wanted $1250 for it.  Too much for me.
Saturday auction items
Wiatt, who directed me to one of those binders with the insignia!!!!
Also, Carey, my buddy!

This is an amazing LDS Scouting collection.  Those tokens on the bottom are unreal.  He just uses foam board.

I bid on that neckerchif.  It looks great here!

The other amazing collection of Lone Scout items.

Great collection of LDS medals.

Community Strips is now a new area of collecting.....

Grand Teton Trade-o-ree - September 17-17

Well, I drove up to Idaho Falls and display 4 tables of Scouting memorabilia this past weekend.  Not too many people there but I picked up a few things for my museum.
This year it was in Idaho Falls, a little further north the Pocatello

Here are my 4 tables ready for the 'crowd'...

Here's a couple Scouts playing with the binoculars.

Craig McDaniel made it up which was great.
